GPS batteries last only so long when you’re far from home base. When used with current paper maps in a waterproof case, a fine military compass solves that problem. While tritium dials glow independently and fade to half of their original brightness after 12.3 years, the phosphorescent dial of this compass can be brightened with a flashlight at any time to keep it glowing for several hours after dark.

The compass is equipped with a magnifying lens, sight wire and dial graduations in both degrees and mils to ensure accurate readings. A copper induction damping system slows the rotation of the magnet without the use of liquids, thus expanding the operating temperature range. With an Aluminum frame and waterproof housing, this compass is built to last and is made in the USA. Also included are a carrying pouch, lanyard and belt clip. “Phosphorescent” is stamped on the back of the casing to distinguish it from tritium compasses.
